Sometimes it seems everywhere I look there is something that needs to be done! Our family gathering room was no exception. It has needed to be painted for a very long time! I visited with our son and his wife and she inspired me! They had recently moved into a beautiful new home and she had painted ALL of the rooms herself! She had used an Olympic paint called Rattan Palm with coordinating paint colors of spice red and a creamy tan. I really liked the Rattan Palm but thought it a little dark for our home. I found one in the same family called Sweet Annie. It is a soft heather greenish gray color. This is a work in progress. One thing leads to another. The fabric swatch hanging on the curtain rod (Byzance from Waverly Fabrics) is what I want to make additional curtains for the door and window in this room. I plan to also leave the cream color curtains. I am anxious to get the new curtains made!
Time marches on for sure. It seems that when I worked I had blinders on to all that needed to be done. Well the blinders are off now! Boy it seems pretty overwhelming sometimes but one day at a time!
I guess I would call my decorating style this day and age Farmhouse Cottage. I need color in my life and much of what I see has neutral colors. That is just not me. Everyone has a different view on what their ideal color palette is and that is what makes each of us unique.
I do like to think that I am the resident artist of my home. I have an armoire that is in one corner of this same room. This is also one of my next projects. I saw the cutest cabinet painted with a farm scene. I plan on working on this project also! Lots of ideas and hopefully enough time to get everything done! I think I will have to start getting up at 4:00 a.m.!
Starting to come together a little bit!
Trusting you will have a great week with many blessings! Projects galore! Keeps life interesting for sure! My heart truly is at home!
