The Big Apple-Apple Dumpling that is!

There is no better time of the year than fall for Apple Dumplings!  The new crop of apples is out and they are sweet and juicy!  The recipe for Apple Dumplings is rich and delicious!  It has lots of cinnamon and sweetness.  They go so well with hot tea or a cup of coffee.  For this tea setting I used my recently updated tool caddy and found this fall plate and teapot to go with it.

I love to use candles when I have tea, in this case coffee.  The candle is one that I have stored for awhile.  It smells so good and goes well with the warm Apple Dumpling scent.  Smells like fall!

The dough is made and then the apples placed on top of a square of the dough.  Cinnamon and sugar and a pat of butter are placed on top of the apples before forming the dumpling.  You will find the complete recipe at the end of this post.

I have had the teapot and plate in my china cabinet and it creates a good fall vignette with the dumpling.

What better way to have your afternoon tea than with a warm apple dumpling and to surround yourself with the things that make you feel warm and cozy!

A good friend gave me this recipe many years ago and especially every fall I make it.  It makes a large pan, especially if you roll the dough rather thin.

Here is another pic using a different set of dishes.  I have what I would call harvest plates and cups.

Straight from the oven in their gooey goodness!
