Anchors Away~Nautical touches

Sometimes it just does not take a lot to really change the look of a room.  Our guest bathroom had been painted a dark navy blue.  I wanted to change the look of this room and found a few nautical pieces to make it happen.

A trip to Home Goods was first on the agenda.  The pic with the  oars fit the theme I was looking for.  It was great colors and was the perfect print.

Next the hunt was on for red towels without paying a hefty price.  They were found at a very unlikely place.  Heavyweight Ralph Lauren towels for $4.00 per towel.  The building continues....

The sailboat was a vintage metal find.  To update, it was painted to match the room.  The sand bucket is now used for a hand towel holder.  The boat oar was another Home Goods find and blends in well with the picture.

There was left over fabric from the project of the chair slipcovers.  You can see how those were completed here.  The red valance for the new shower curtain makes the right touch for this small guest bathroom.

We were very glad to welcome friends to our home for an overnight stay and the bathroom makes a happy room to meet guests!  Have a great week!
