Dressing the Window for Christmas!

Our kitchen window is a focal point in the kitchen.  Today I started dressing this window for Christmas.  I made these curtains several years ago and had just about forgotten about them until looking in the old trunk which houses linens.  They are made from a soft muslin fabric.  It was quite cold this day with snow.  The window is frosty and really does seem like a good start to Christmas decorating!

This shot was taken this eve.  The curtains are full ruffle and look so romantic with the soft star candle light.

The cabinets which surround the window were hand painted with seasonal scenes.
The Curtains were tied back with red and white stripe grosgrain ribbon.

On the window sill the star candle is surrounded with a berry wreath, a cardinal, and a cardinal teapot, sugar bowl, and creamer.

It makes a pretty window with the soft light.

Looking forward to adding more to the kitchen to create a cheery Christmas home to all who enter!
