Like A Big Pizza Pie~That's Amore!

We love homemade pizza around our house!  I make it almost every week.  It saves tons of money and is definitely more nutritious.  Several jars of spaghetti sauce have been canned this summer with the abundance of tomatoes we have enjoyed.  There was just enough left from the last batch to use for a pizza.  It is so versatile that it can be used for so many things other than just spaghetti.  If you would like to see the recipe you can look at it here.

I use a very easy recipe for the pizza dough.  This dough is also very versatile just like the sauce.  It can be used for lots of homemade bread ideas.  It makes a large batch, so unless I am cooking for a large crowd I divide the dough in half and freeze one-half.  Then the next time I want to make pizza the dough is already made.  I just take it out of the freezer and let it thaw out and then raise.  It is the 90 minute Man Bread recipe.  You can see it here.   I do use canola oil in place of the coconut.

A jelly roll plan is the right size for us.  The pan is greased and then the dough is smoothed out in the pan.  We like lots of garlic with our pizza.  One-half stick of butter is melted and then garlic added to taste.  This mixture is spread over the dough.  Next, comes that good spaghetti sauce!
There was 1/2 pkg of sausage left from another meal and lots of green peppers from the garden so that was our toppings tonight.

Shredded mozzarella over the top and then baked for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.  Then the yumminess starts!

Pair it with a salad and it is a wonderful and inexpensive meal!  Have a great day!
