The brand new day has arrived! The gourds are now ready to..
dance in the light of the brand new day!
For not planning this harvest, it sure has been a lot of fun to watch these gourds develop. All are so different. Some have smooth skin while others are bumpy. Some are golden while others deep orange. They all are unique and no two look alike. I wanted to display them in front of our garden porch for a bright pop of color on this beautiful, but hot September morn. I had found this vintage metal display rack and they fit perfectly!
The colors are so vibrant and they give this area a great fall color. The leaves of the plant are starting to die off now and my hubby is ready for them to go. It has been somewhat difficult to mow around this summer since it has grown so much. The vine kind of reminds me of Jack and the Beanstalk, only horizontal not vertical!
In the above pic it was early summer and the vine had just started its growth. The flowers on the porch also were in the early stages of blooms.
